Quince Clothing Review: What I’d Buy Again and What I’d Skip After 5 Years

in Personal Style, Reviews on 09/13/26

To start, Quince did not get any say in this post. Nobody there paid for it, read it before you did, or asked me to leave anything out.

Full transparency, though, I’m a Quince affiliate, so I earn a small commission when you shop my links, and when sales hit certain targets some of that comes back to me as product credit.

I was shopping with them with my own money back when the company was still called Last Brand, before the name changed in 2020. Most of my closet has come from them ever since.

So this Quince review isn’t a haul I unboxed last week. It’s five years of wearing these clothes in my everyday life, and a list of the things I’d tell a friend to skip.

Every photo below is me in these clothes, from Italy to Mexico and everywhere in between. Nothing earns a spot in my carry-on unless it works, which is my real answer to whether Quince is legit.

Here’s what you’ll learn today:

✅ Whether Quince is legit, and why this Quince review says the prices make sense

✅ The 18 pieces I own, wear, and buy again in multiple colors

✅ The 5 things I’d skip, plus the sizing quirk nobody warns you about

So, is Quince legit? Here’s my honest Quince clothing review.

Quince is legit. The company sells straight from the same factories that supply luxury labels, which is how a cashmere sweater lands under $60 instead of $200. After five years of wearing these clothes, my honest Quince review is that the quality to price ratio is excellent, with real gaps: sizing varies by color, maxi lengths run long, and a handful of items aren’t worth your money.

Is Quince Legit? My Honest Answer After 5 Years

Yes. I own dozens of Quince pieces, but the proof I keep coming back to is a pair of shoes.

My white leather everyday sneakers have serious miles on them. These are my go-to shoes for my full-time traveling lifestyle.

They are stylish, durable, and my feet don’t hate them at the end of a long day out. That’s why I stopped wondering whether the prices were too good to be true.

The other answer is less about me.

I buy Quince pieces as gifts for family and friends, and every one of them has come back to me about the fit, the style, and how comfortable everything is.

So is Quince a good brand? Everyone I’ve gifted seems to think so, and after five years, so do I.

💡 Worth knowing: a brand can be legit and still get things wrong. Quince gets sizing wrong often enough that I’ve dedicated a whole section to it below.

Why Quince Is So Cheap

Quince works directly with the factories that produce for luxury brands and sells to you without the middlemen in between. No department store markup, no wholesale or distributor fees.

The tradeoffs are honest ones. Quince uses high-quality materials like Grade-A Mongolian cashmere and Mulberry silk, but many items are thinner or lighter, using less fabric than true luxury brands.

Quince also cuts costs by using lighter-weight zippers and buttons, and often skips luxury tailoring details and high-end linings.

All that said, Quince may be cheap, but their stuff is amazingly resilient. As a full-time carry-on traveler who repeats outfits constantly, I’ve rarely been disappointed by how well their pieces hold up to real-world use.

For comparison’s sake, I’ve owned similar pieces from Everlane. They make nice things, but I can’t justify paying twice, sometimes three times, what the same quality costs at Quince.

Is Quince Good Quality?

I’m not an expert in fabrics, stitching and things of that nature. What I can say is that the vast majority of my Quince apparel has stood the test of time.

I’m a full-time carry-on traveler. My Quince stuff gets worn and washed way more than what’s normal for the average person.

I’m happy to say that the shape holds, there’s no pilling (those little balls of fabric that show up on your clothes), and nearly everything looks as good as new, even after consistent use.

Quince is known for the cashmere and linen. To that point, their cotton and gym apparel is where I haven’t always been blown away. Those details are covered in the skip list below 😉

🙋🏻‍♀️ The Quince Pieces I Buy Again and Again

Nothing made this list unless I own it and reach for it. Where I’ve bought the same piece in more than one color, I’ve said so, because that’s the most honest signal there is.

1️⃣ Ponte: the pants I own in five colors

The Ultra Stretch Ponte Cropped Wide Leg Pants are the piece I’d hand someone who has never bought from Quince and wants to understand the brand in one purchase.

I own them in black, navy, brown, morel grey, and green.

Five colors!

I don’t think there’s a better way to show how much I love Quince’s Ponte pants.

They hold their shape all day, they don’t wrinkle, and they fit like tailored trousers while still being super comfy. And they’re suitable for a night out or for looking cute while running around town doing errands.

⚠️ Order carefully: this is one of the styles where the fit shifts between colors. More on that below.

✅ Verdict: buy again. I already have, four more times 😉

2️⃣ Quince Cashmere Review: 4 Pieces, Zero Regrets

Cashmere is where Quince built its reputation.

The fabric is wonderful, and Quince makes it affordable without sacrificing quality.

💡 My favorite thing about it: I can wear it four or five times before it needs washing, and more than that over a base layer. Good cashmere doesn’t hold odor the way cotton does, which quietly makes it one of the lowest maintenance things you can own.

Here are some of the cashmere pieces that I own, perfect for first-time Quince buyers:

The Mongolian Cashmere Crewneck Sweater fits right and layers easily, and every fall Quince brings in seasonal colors that are genuinely gorgeous.

✅ Verdict: buy again, and any Quince Mongolian cashmere sweater review should start right here.

The Mongolian Cashmere Duster Cardigan is the one I own in two colors. I love the butt coverage, and it’s warm without the chunky sweater look.

It keeps me warm without making me feel puffy or padded, which is where most warm layers lose me.

✅ Verdict: buy again. I’m two colors in and counting.

The Mongolian Cashmere T-shirt is the piece I pack every single fall. It’s a plain tee that happens to be warm, and it goes under everything.

✅ Verdict: buy again. With so many beautiful colors, I’m continuing to fill my closet with this one.

The Mongolian Cashmere Rib Midi Skirt is my newest of the four and my current favorite thing to wear on a cold evening. Soft, warm, and dressier than it has any right to be.

✅ Verdict: buy again. The newest thing in my closet and already a cold evening favorite.

Quince cashmere styled six ways, a pale pink short sleeve sweater with a burgundy silk skirt, a camel rib knit skirt, a grey duster cardigan, and a sage sweater

3️⃣ Linen: the shorts that changed my mind

I didn’t wear shorts for years. The European Linen High Waisted Shorts are the pair that changed that, and I now own them in two colors.

They are stylish and super flattering!

✅ Verdict: buy again. A pair that ends a years-long shorts strike gets no other answer.

The European Linen Tapered Ankle Pants are my summer uniform, and I own five colors of those too. $42 for 100% linen pants is a total steal!

✅ Verdict: buy again. I own these in five colors. What else can I say 🤷🏻‍♀️

⚠️ The honest tradeoff: linen wrinkles, immediately and permanently. If creases bother you, this fabric will bother you.

I’ve made peace with it because linen in serious heat beats every other option, but I won’t pretend it’s wrinkle free when it comes out of my suitcase.

Aimara wearing Quince linen four ways, natural and red high waisted shorts, rust linen pants with a white tee, and blush linen pants under a grey cardigan

4️⃣ Denim: two Quince jeans I actually wear on trips

The Bella Stretch Skinny Jeans are the ones I own in faded black and regular black. The black pair is the one currently in rotation.

The stretch is the point. They move like leggings and read like jeans, and the short inseam works without hemming if you’re on the petite side.

✅ Verdict: buy again. I love a good pair of skinnies. And the stretch makes these a comfy pair I’d definitely get again.

PS: I also own Quince’s Bella studded jeans in black. I absolutely love them and will bring them to my winter Italy trip.

Quince Bella stretch skinny jeans in faded black styled two ways, with a green cardigan and backpack, and with a grey cardigan and white tee

5️⃣ Dresses: the easiest thing to get right

The 100% Washable Silk Slip Dress is my favorite dress I own, and mine is the polka dot in the spaghetti strap version.

✅ Verdict: buy again. This is genuinely my favorite Quince dress!

Ways of Style wearing the Quince polka dot silk slip dress four ways, layered with a cardigan, worn alone, tied with a white shirt, and under a denim jacket

💡 Want arm coverage? The same dress comes in a short sleeve version, so you get the fabric and the shape without the bare shoulders.

Washable silk is the part people underestimate. Silk you can machine wash gets worn far more often than silk you can’t.

The Tencel Jersey Fit and Flare Dress isn’t mine, it’s my mother in law’s, and she’s 5’9″ and loves it.

✅ Her verdict is that it works across body shapes and layers easily, which is a useful data point from a very different height than mine.

👗 Not sure what your closet is actually missing?

Before you add anything new, it helps to know what you already have too much of. This closet quiz takes about a minute and tells you where the gaps really are.

Answer them here ⬇️

6️⃣ Leather: where Quince quietly beats everyone

The Italian Leather Everyday Sneakers in white are the single best thing I’ve bought from this brand.

They are my go-to everyday sneakers when I’m anywhere that isn’t too cold.

They’re comfortable from day one, they clean up, and they’ve outlasted shoes that cost three times more. If you buy one thing from this post, make it these.

✅ Verdict: an easy choice if you need casual white sneakers in your closet.

The Italian Leather Platform Sandals were the only sandals I wore for eight straight months.

✅ Verdict: buy again. My go-to sandal for beach or resort trips.

💡 Sizing note: size up if you’re between sizes.

The Double Buckle Slides are my alternative to Birkenstocks. Mine are the leather pair, they’re comfortable, and they cost meaningfully less.

✅ Verdict: buy these before a second pair of Birkenstocks.

For bags, I rotate two. The Italian Leather Raffia Crossbody handles warm weather, and this leather crossbody takes over for fall and winter.

✅ Verdict: I love having one casual and one dressier crossbody bag.

Ways of Style wearing Quince leather sandals, white leather sneakers, and crossbody bags in tan and black, styled with linen pants, black jeans, a midi skirt, and linen shorts

7️⃣ Quince Puffer Jacket Review and the Short Trench

My Featherless Quilted Long Puffer is burgundy, and the color is why I bought it over a black one.

The long cut covers more than a cropped puffer, so it works over a dress or a skirt without the proportions going strange.

✅ Verdict: buy again. My favorite cold-weather piece for when I’m brave enough to go somewhere cold 😂

The Comfort Stretch Short Trench Coat is the one I reach for in spring and fall. At 5’4″ in an XS, it hits right at the end of my hip.

✅ Verdict: I love this one, especially on a petite frame. Just don’t ask it to be a raincoat.

Ways of Style wearing the Quince short trench coat two ways, over a striped sweater with black jeans and over a white tee with teal pants

Beyond Clothing: The Quince Beauty Section Nobody Talks About

This is the part of the brand that almost never shows up in a Quince review, and it’s where most of my every-day beauty products now come from.

They stock premium brands rather than in house dupes. My rotation includes Virtue’s Recovery shampoo, conditioner and treatment and the Irene Forte Prickly Pear Face Cream.

I also use the Augustinus Bader Scalp Treatment for thinning, and the Ursa Major Mountain Glow Serum.

Here’s how the pricing works: beauty at Quince isn’t necessarily cheaper than buying the same product elsewhere.

⭐️ What makes it worth it: you get a gift card back on your order, so it functions like store credit. Around $20 back on a $90 purchase, which is solid on products you’re buying anyway.

Quince also carries jewelry, home goods, travel gear, and much more. I do own and love some of their lab grown diamond earrings, and other jewelry that I always travel with.

The Sizing Problem Nobody Warns You About

This is the single most useful thing in this Quince review, and it’s the thing I wish someone had told me before my first order.

Sizing varies by color within the same style. Not slightly, either.

I own the same piece in different sizes depending on the color, and it’s happened with the ponte pants, the linen, and the Bella wide leg.

💡 What to do about it: read the reviews on the exact color you want, not the style overall. Reviewers flag it constantly, and it takes about two minutes.

Two more fit notes worth knowing before you order:

  • Maxi lengths run long. At 5’4″ the maxi dresses and skirts aren’t a good bet for me, and petite versions often don’t exist.
  • Pants come in length options, but rarely tall. Plenty of styles offer a shorter inseam, and far fewer offer a longer one.

🙅🏻‍♀️What I’d Skip: 5 Things I Wouldn’t Buy Again

A Quince review with no skip list isn’t much of a review. Here’s what hasn’t worked, in my closet and in my house.

❌ Organic cotton poplin pull on pants. I find them uncomfortable, and they’re the one clothing item I regret ordering.

❌ The Ponte tapered cargo pants, purely a style call and not a quality one. I own five colors of the Ponte pants but I didn’t like this casual cargo pant.

❌ The no show socks. Mine developed holes after a few weeks of gym and running use, which is the fastest anything from this brand has failed on me.

❌ Maxi skirts, if you’re petite. They run long and many don’t come in a petite length, which rules them out for me at 5’4″.

❌ The men’s gym gear. My husband Gordon says the shorts are good, but they skip the zipper pocket his other brands have, so there’s nowhere safe for keys or his earbuds case during a workout.

His bigger complaint is the gym shirts. The collars crinkle over time, noticeably faster than his favorite Rhone shirts, which cost about double.

🫵 Which Quince Pieces Are Right for You?

Not sure where to start after all that? Here’s the short version of this Quince review:

  • Want one purchase that proves the brand? → Italian Leather Everyday Sneakers
  • Testing the cashmere for the first time? → Mongolian Cashmere Crewneck Sweater
  • Need pants that go from errands to dinner? → Ultra Stretch Ponte Cropped Wide Leg Pants
  • Want one dress that does everything? → 100% Washable Silk Slip Dress
  • Shopping for real summer heat? → European Linen Tapered Ankle Pants

Quick Recap: Every Piece in This Quince Review

  • Ultra Stretch Ponte Cropped Wide Leg Pants. I own five colors. That’s the review.
  • Mongolian Cashmere Crewneck Sweater. Wears four or five times between washes.
  • Mongolian Cashmere Duster Cardigan. Warm without the padded look. I own two.
  • Mongolian Cashmere T-shirt. The layer I pack every fall.
  • Mongolian Cashmere Rib Midi Skirt. Dressier than it looks, warmer than it looks.
  • European Linen Tapered Ankle Pants. Five colors, and worth the wrinkles.
  • European Linen High Waisted Shorts. The pair that got me back into shorts.
  • Bella Stretch Skinny Jeans. Faded black and black, short inseam.
  • Bella Studded Jeans. The more fun statement jeans.
  • 100% Washable Silk Slip Dress. My favorite dress, in polka dot.
  • Tencel Jersey Fit and Flare Dress. My mother in law’s pick at 5’9″.
  • Italian Leather Everyday Sneakers. Serious miles and still going.
  • Italian Leather Platform Sandals. Eight months as my only sandal.
  • Double Buckle Slides. My cheaper answer to Birkenstocks.
  • Italian Leather Raffia Crossbody. Warm weather bag.
  • Leather Crossbody. The fall and winter swap.
  • Featherless Quilted Long Puffer. Mine’s burgundy, and long enough for skirts.
  • Comfort Stretch Short Trench Coat. XS hits at the hip at 5’4″.

And there you have it. Five years of wearing this brand, condensed into one honest list.

Quince isn’t a perfect brand. The sizing is inconsistent, the maxi lengths ignore shorter frames, and a few products genuinely aren’t worth your money.

But the quality to price ratio is excellent, and after five years I’m still ordering. That’s the most honest Quince review I can give you.

Thanks for reading!

XO,

Aimara

Quince Clothing FAQ

What is the Quince controversy?

The main criticism is that Quince closely follows designs other brands introduced first, then sells its version for far less. Reporting has also raised questions about how much visibility the company has into its factories. Both are fair criticisms, and neither has changed how the pieces I own have performed.

Is Quince just Shein?

No. The business models look similar from the outside, but the materials aren’t comparable. Quince sells 100% Mongolian cashmere, European linen, washable silk, and Italian leather, and those fabrics behave like the expensive versions because they are the same fabrics. Where the comparison holds is speed and design copying, and that’s a legitimate concern.

Why is Quince stuff so cheap?

Because there’s nobody in between. Quince works directly with manufacturers and ships to you, skipping wholesalers, retail markup, and store overhead. You pay for the product instead of the supply chain, and you trade away the ability to try things on first.

What are the pros and cons of Quince?

Most Quince reviews land in the same place I do. The pros are premium fabrics at a third of the usual price, classic shapes that don’t date, and pieces that hold up to constant wear. The cons are inconsistent sizing between colors, maxi lengths that ignore petite frames, longer shipping, and a few products that simply aren’t good.

Does Quince clothing run true to size?

Mostly, with one big exception: sizing can vary between colors of the same style. I own the same pants in different sizes depending on the color. Read the reviews for the specific color you’re ordering, and size up on the sandals if you’re between sizes.

Is Quince cashmere actually good quality?

Yes, and it’s the category I’d start with. Any Quince cashmere review comes down to how it wears over time, and mine still looks right after years of use. I can wear a cashmere sweater four or five times before washing, which no cotton layer can match.

What should I buy from Quince first?

The Italian Leather Everyday Sneakers if you want proof the quality is real, or the Mongolian Cashmere Crewneck Sweater if you want to understand why everyone talks about their cashmere. Both are low risk first orders.

In the morning we went to the beach to snorkel and in the afternoon we explored Mayan ruins and had drinks and dinner. I needed sun protection and sneakers because they don’t recommend to walk the ruins in sandals (uneven terrain). Turkey has been incredible. We are blown away by h Turkey has been incredible. We are blown away by how beautiful it is, all the different landscapes, the food, and above everything, the people ❤️

Looking back to a few weeks ago when I was really afraid of going on this trip, thinking about all the things that could go wrong, being a little upset with myself in a way for not wanting the traditional life path I always thought was my only choice; get married, buy a house, have kids, save money and travel when you retire. That’s not for me.

I’m very happy I followed my heart 💕 I wrote a letter to myself on the blog: “What’s the best that can happen if the worst happens?” You can check it out by clicking the link in my bio. Honestly, the only reason we are going there is because of me. G is not too crazy about it, but I’ve seen it on Instagram so much that I wanted to see for myself what the buzz was all about. So I’ll keep you posted on what it actually is!

This was the most amazing experience. I was SO nervous and anxious before but somehow I managed to push through and tried this very scary thing for the first time. And you know what I learned? That I loved it! I would do it again a million times! It wasn’t scary at all. It was all in my head and it wasn’t real. Also, they had the sweetest dog at the shop named Lucy that really help me not to think about it (swipe to see her 😍)

We didn’t do any crazy tricks like G did and it was a very peaceful flight. It’s up to you how you want to do it.
