Okay, real talk: I run cold… embarrassingly cold.
I was born in Venezuela with the Caribbean as my backyard, so anything under 78 degrees has me reaching for a layer.
That one little quirk is exactly why fall dressing used to stress me out. I wanted to stay warm without dragging half my closet around with me.
I’ve been living out of a 20″ carry-on full time since 2021, and over the years most of my closet has quietly become Quince. So this season I gave myself a fun little challenge: build a complete Quince fall capsule wardrobe using just 21 pieces, all from one brand, that mix into more than 50 outfits.
Friend, it worked so well!
Twenty one pieces, one cohesive palette, and enough combinations to get dressed for two months without repeating a look. Below I’m walking you through every single piece, why it earned its spot, and exactly how I wear it.
I show you all 50 outfits at the end 🙌
Here’s what you’ll learn today:
✅ The exact 21 pieces in my Quince fall capsule wardrobe, reviewed one by one
✅ Why each piece earns its place (fabric, fit, and how I actually wear it)
✅ All 50 Quince fall outfits, organized by bottom piece so they’re easy to recreate

A Quince fall capsule wardrobe is a small, tightly edited set of Quince pieces in one cohesive palette that mix and match into dozens of outfits. Mine is 21 pieces that make more than 50 looks, all built around camel, cream, black, charcoal, forest green, and burgundy so nothing clashes.
🎯 Start here: how this capsule actually works
The whole thing runs on one rule: every piece has to talk to every other piece. That’s the difference between a closet full of clothes and a capsule that basically gets dressed for you.
I kept the palette tight on purpose. Camel, cream, black, charcoal, and grey do the heavy lifting as neutrals, and forest green and burgundy come in as my two accent colors. Because there’s no orphan color in the mix, any top works with any bottom, and any layer works over all of it.
Sticking with one brand wasn’t just for fun, either. Because the fabrics, cuts, and tones were already designed to sit next to each other, building a cohesive Quince fall capsule wardrobe took the guesswork out of it. If you love this brand too, I also have an all season version in my 25 piece Quince capsule wardrobe.
The 21 Pieces That Make This Quince Fall Capsule Wardrobe Possible
Here they are, grouped by category, with an honest note on each one. The pieces I call mine are the ones I actually own and reach for on repeat.
Bottoms (5)
Ultra Stretch Ponte Cropped Wide Leg Pants (black). These are the workhorse of the whole capsule, and the ones I grab without thinking. I own them in black, navy, brown, and green in a size 2 with a 26″ inseam, and the ponte feels like leggings but reads like real trousers. That’s the dream, honestly.
Bella Skinny Jeans (grey). A soft grey wash is quietly more useful than blue denim in fall, because it slips right into a neutral palette. I wear mine with everything from a chunky sweater to the puffer vest.
Drapey Twill Tapered Trousers (oatmilk). My one dressier bottom. The twill has a soft, fluid drape, and the oatmilk shade lightens up all the deeper fall tones. This is the one I reach for when I want to look put together for work or dinner without trying too hard.
Cashmere Midi Skirt (teak brown). A cashmere midi is the sneaky versatile piece most capsules skip, and I don’t know why. The warm teak brown pairs with cream, black, and green, and once you add tights and boots it carries you straight into cold weather.
Organic Stretch Corduroy Cropped Wide Leg Pants (burgundy). This is where the fall texture lives. Corduroy instantly reads seasonal, and the burgundy is rich enough to feel like a color while still behaving like a neutral against cream and black. It’s my little pop that isn’t really a pop.
Tops (8)
Cashmere Crewneck Sweater (camel). This is the one I have, and probably my most worn sweater. Camel is the friendliest neutral there is, and it looks just as good with grey jeans as it does tucked into the teak skirt.
Striped Crewneck Sweater (black and cream). A classic stripe is the one pattern that behaves like a solid, so it goes with everything. This is my own sweater, and the black and cream keeps it firmly inside the palette while still adding a little something.
Baby Alpaca Turtleneck (stony ivory). Lightweight baby alpaca is warm without the bulk, which matters a lot when you’re packing light. The stony ivory works as a base under the coat, the cardigan, or the puffer vest.
Washable Stretch Silk Tie Neck Blouse (forest green). Every capsule needs one going out top, and a silk blouse is always a safe bet. Forest green is the accent that makes the neutrals feel intentional, and that tie neck dresses up in about two seconds.
Stretch Cotton Jersey Long Sleeve Tee (linen white). My fall base layer, and the piece I probably wear the most out of all of them. It’s fitted enough to layer smoothly under sweaters and the chambray shirt, and clean white keeps everything looking fresh.
Merino Wool Base Layer (black). This is the piece that lets someone who runs cold, like me, survive fall in a carry-on. Merino is thin, warm, and travels beautifully, so it slides under anything on the really chilly days.
Chambray Shirt (light blue). I own the tencel version and wear it three ways: buttoned, tucked, or open like a light jacket over a tee. It’s the easy, casual layer that keeps a capsule from feeling too dressy.
Cashmere Vest (oatmeal). My cashmere vest is the layering piece I didn’t know I needed until I had it. It goes over the tee, the chambray, or a blouse and adds warmth through the core without a single extra sleeve to fuss with.
Layers (4)
Wool Cashmere Cocoon Coat (camel). Every fall capsule needs one real coat, and camel is the most versatile color you can pick. The soft cocoon shape layers cleanly over sweaters and looks polished with everything from jeans to the skirt.
Featherless Quilted Long Puffer (forest green). The warm, casual counterpart to the coat. I went forest green instead of a safe neutral because it still matches all five bottoms, and it pulls the green accent up into the outerwear. Best of both.
Puffer Vest (black). My puffer vest is pure transitional weather magic. It adds warmth without bulk over a tee or sweater, and because it’s black it disappears into every outfit.
Cashmere Long Cardigan (grey). This is my cozy throw on everything layer. The long grey knit works over the sweater dress, over jeans and a tee, or as my softest option on a plane.
Dress (1)
Mongolian Cashmere Turtleneck Sweater Dress (black). One cozy, throw it on and go piece. A black cashmere sweater dress is a whole outfit by itself, and it layers under the cocoon coat or over the merino base layer when it drops cold.
Shoes (3)
White Leather Sneakers. The pair I actually own and wear year round. They keep the dressier pieces from feeling too fussy and honestly go with every bottom in the capsule.
Italian Leather Sock Bootie (black). One of my all-time favorite fall shoes. The sleek sock shape looks polished with everything, and black takes the skirt and the dress straight into cold weather without a second thought.
Black Leather Penny Loafers. The polished flat that pulls the work and dinner looks together. Black loafers with the oatmilk trousers or the corduroy is my easy, instantly put together move.
Accessories (the extras that pull it all together)
I never count accessories in the piece total, because their whole job is to enhance, not complicate. A few good ones keep the same 21 pieces feeling fresh: my leather crossbody bag (mine is dusty pink, but browse all the crossbody bags for a brown one), a cashmere scarf, a cashmere beanie, and simple gold hoops.
How to Create 50 Outfits With These 21 Pieces
Okay, here’s the part I have the most fun with in my Quince fall capsule wardrobe. I organized all 50 outfits by bottom piece, because that’s genuinely how I get dressed. I pick the pants or the skirt first, then build up from there.
Each of the five bottoms gets 10 outfits, which is where the 50 comes from. Grab your favorite bottom, scroll to it, and pick a look. And remember, this is just a starting point. Swap the shoes, add a scarf, change the layer, and you’ll find way more than 50 in here.
👖 10 outfits with the black ponte pants
These are the ones I reach for most, and honestly they go with everything in here. Throw the camel crewneck and white sneakers on for errands, swap in the silk blouse and boots when you want to feel a little more done, or layer the puffer vest over a tee for those in between days. Here are 10 ways to wear them.
🩶 10 outfits with the grey skinny jeans
Grey jeans are my sneaky secret weapon, softer than blue denim and just as easy to wear. They love a chunky sweater and sneakers, but they clean right up with the cocoon coat and loafers when you need them to. Ten looks coming right up.

🤎 10 outfits with the oatmilk trousers
These are my dressier bottom, so this is where the work and dinner outfits live. The tapered leg with loafers and a tucked in turtleneck is my go to, and the cocoon coat over the top finishes it beautifully. Here are 10 ways to style them.
🤍 10 outfits with the teak cashmere skirt
The cashmere skirt is the piece that surprises people. Add tights and boots and it takes you right into cold weather, and it plays so nicely with cream, black, and that forest green blouse. Ten more outfits below.
🍷 10 outfits with the burgundy corduroy
Corduroy is peak cozy fall texture, and burgundy acts like a neutral against everything cream and black. Pair it with a soft sweater and boots and you’ve got that easy, lived in fall look I love. Here are the last 10.
The sweater dress gets its own little section, because it’s the one piece that’s a whole outfit by itself. Add the puffer vest and sneakers for daytime, the long cardigan and booties when it turns cold, or wear it with just the loafers and let it do the talking.

Quince Fall Capsule Wardrobe FAQ
How many pieces do you need for a fall capsule wardrobe?
Anywhere from about 20 to 25 pieces is plenty for a full Quince fall capsule wardrobe. Mine is 21, and it makes more than 50 outfits. The exact number matters less than making sure every piece works with several others.
Is Quince good quality for fall pieces?
In my experience, yes. I own a lot of the best Quince pieces for fall, from cashmere sweaters to leather boots, and they’ve held up well with regular wear. The cashmere and wool pieces in particular give you a lot for the price.
What colors work best in a fall capsule wardrobe?
Build on neutrals first: camel, cream, black, charcoal, and grey mix with everything. Then add one or two accent colors like forest green or burgundy. Keeping the palette tight is what lets a Quince capsule wardrobe mix so easily.
Can a fall capsule wardrobe fit in a carry-on?
Absolutely. I’ve been traveling with a 20″ carry-on since 2021, and a capsule like this fits with room to spare. The trick is choosing thin, warm fabrics like merino and cashmere instead of bulky knits.
What shoes do I need for a fall capsule?
Three pairs cover almost everything: white leather sneakers for casual days, black or brown leather boots for cooler weather, and black loafers for work or dinner. That trio styles with every outfit in this capsule.
How do I style the same pieces without repeating outfits?
Think in formulas, not outfits. Swap one piece at a time, like changing the sweater or the layer while keeping the same bottom, and a handful of Quince fall outfits quickly turns into dozens. Accessories do a lot of the refreshing, too.
Is a one brand capsule wardrobe worth it?
It makes building one much easier, because the fabrics and tones are already designed to coordinate. You don’t have to shop a single brand, but for a cohesive fall capsule wardrobe it removes a lot of the matching guesswork.
