First Things First…
Let me start by saying that I don’t have anything against jeans. I have 2 pairs, but I leave them at home. (and by home, I mean the small closet I have at my in laws’ in Florida).
Jeans are versatile, timeless, and can effortlessly transition from day to night. But as someone who’s constantly on the move and with limited space, I’ve come to realize that jeans just don’t cut it when it comes to practicality and comfort.
Sweatpants VS Jeans: The Cons Of Jeans For Travel 👎🏻
1️⃣ Jeans can be pretty uncomfortable and can restrict your movement.
2️⃣ They are warm. This is a big reason why I never bring them. We always travel to really warm places!
3️⃣ They are heavy and bulky. When you live out of a carry-on bag, this really matters.
Joggers VS Jeans: Why I Ditched Jeans For Joggers…
Ok, hear me out because I know joggers are not for everyone.
But guys, they do such a great job nowadays at making joggers comfortable, durable and stylish! And I think that’s why this battle of ‘Joggers VS Jeans’ is an easy win for joggers! (at least when it comes to travel)
✅ Let’s start with comfort. With their stretchy waistbands and breathable fabric, joggers are the ultimate travel companion, offering unrestricted movement and all-day comfort.
✅ Then, there’s versatility. Joggers are more versatile than jeans! I recommend that you travel with a darker color (I stick with black), so you can transition effortlessly from day to night. You can style your joggers while exploring a new city, for travel days, or even for an impromptu hike!
✅ Joggers are space savers! They’re easy to pack and lightweight. You can fit them anywhere in your suitcase. That’s music to my ears.
✅ They’re great for travel days. Forget about uncomfortable waist lines, belts, etc. Going through airport security is guaranteed to be a breeze, plus joggers are stretchy and comfortable to wear.
✅ Joggers are adaptable and friendly to weight fluctuations during your trip. I had to include this one because I consider it a miracle that I was able to wear the same pair of joggers while traveling through Italy for almost 3 months last year. I did not restrict myself on that trip LOL and yes, the joggers were a little bit tighter towards the end of the trip, but they still fit. I know this would have never been the case with jeans!
✅ They are durable. Travel can be tough on clothes, especially when you’re constantly on the move. My joggers have lasted me a long time and they have survived all the shady washers I use to do my laundry while I’m on the road.
✅ Joggers dry quickly! This is one of the reasons why I love joggers so much as a full time traveler! They dry super fast. This is important because the places we visit rarely have dryers 😂 So it’s ok to wash them last minute.
Top Joggers To Invest In:
My personal favorite brand is this one. These are the exact ones I’m traveling with right now.
👉🏻 Sizing info: I wear Petite S. I am 5 4′ and weight about 130 pounds. I recommend that if you are my height or shorter, order Petite.
I also have these ones. These are way more casual and I use them for lounging at home in Florida. I only travel with them if I know we will be at our Airbnb working (like it has happened on our latest Mexico trips). But since you probably have a home and like to lounge, these are still a great option :)

Pro tips: If You Insist On Traveling With Jeans, Keep This In Mind 👇🏼
✅ Wear them on travel days! This way you don’t have to sacrifice space/weight in your suitcase.
✅ Try to shop for a comfortable pair of jeans. I personally love these ones. (and they are very flattering too!)
✅ Pick a dark color! Either dark blue or black. This way you can’t see if they get dirty, and you can wear them multiple times.
Final Thoughts About Sweatpants VS Jeans:
While jeans have a solid place in the fashion world, they simply don’t stack up when it comes to travel-friendly clothing.
In my humble opinion, this battle of joggers VS jeans (for travel) has a clear winner: JOGGERS! 🏆
So, the next time you’re packing your bags for a journey across the globe, consider leaving the denim behind and make room for the cozy comfort of joggers. Trust me, your legs will thank you.
Happy carry-on travels! ✈️
