It wasn’t until a couple of years ago that I started enjoying the outdoors again. I don’t know why I ever stopped connecting with nature though… My first home was in a farm in the middle of nowhere back in Venezuela and my dad always made sure we were enjoying the outdoors and doing stuff like horseback riding, camping, fishing, milking cows… Yes, I bet you didn’t see that coming! I know how to milk a cow LOL (I think I still remember). Those are some of my fondest memories and I think those experiences are the reason why I love animals and wild life so much, but somehow when I became a teenager I drifted away from all of that little by little.
It wasn’t until I met Gordon a little over 3 years ago that I started being outdoorsy again. G loves nature and being surrounded by it, and he has really helped me to enjoy it again too. We now plan trips to places where we can be outside and relax, like Montana this past Summer, which by the way is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. We went to Glacier National Park and to a little town called Anaconda and it was so breathtakingly beautiful. We can’t wait to go back!
Here are some very special photos:

How cute is this dress from Roots? I recently worked with them (even though I was already a fan of the brand as you can see) and got a few other pieces that I’m obsessed with! Their stuff makes me want to be stuck in a cabin with G, with tons of red wine, hot chocolate, cheese, snow and a fire place LOL. Just look at these pieces and tell me you don’t want to do the same… Here are some of my favorites:

Link to the hoodie. It comes in 5 colors! (I’m wearing a size XS)

I love this maxi skirt because it’s so chic and so perfect for Winter! I feel like it’s super hard to wear maxi skirts for Winter, but they sure nailed it with this one.

Link to the maxi skirt (I’m wearing a size S). It says it’s sold out online, but you can see if it’s available at a store near you.
We took these photos at a park in the city called Horner Park, and it’s next to the river and it has a beautiful sidewalk in between the trees and close to the water (if you are lucky, you may see a coyote! we did!) and it makes you feel like you are not in the middle of such a big city like Chicago, which can be super nice sometimes. I feel so lucky to be able to escape from time to time. Right now we are in Florida. We’ve been here since December 30th and will stay until the 22nd. We have literally been outside every single day! Whether snorkeling, playing tennis, going on walks, biking… you name it! We are taking advantage of this nice weather while we have it.
I also wanted to share these other Roots pieces, because well I already had the photos and I’m not only obsessed with these pieces and with Roots, but with the photos as well. My sis did such an amazing job! If you are in Chicago and need a photographer, make sure to check her out! (@aliciamayorcaphotography).

Link to the boots. They used to be available in 8 colors, but now there are only 2 colors left and just few sizes, so think fast if you need new Winter boots! I’m wearing a size 6. They run TTS.
You can browse their website to find your own favorite pieces here 😉

I’m not linking this Aviator jacket because it’s unfortunately sold out 🙁 But you can check out other cute jackets here.
I used to call myself a city girl, but to be honest I now crave being in a quiet place where I can connect with myself and nature. I still love big cities, but whenever we travel to one, we also try to include some outdoor activities. Like for example, this past August we went to Nashville and planned to go hiking just outside of the city. We had to drive for an hour, and we spend half day hiking and exploring. It was amazing! Look how beautiful this place is!! Here are some photos:

The other day I was talking to a friend that knows me really well and she mentioned something that caught my attention. She said that I don’t look the same on Instagram as I do in real life. I guess if you pay attention to my IG, you would only think I’m interested in fashion and beauty… Truth is, you might not know this side of me because I try to disconnect when I’m connecting with nature. Being outside soothes my soul and it helps me put things in perspective. It makes me realize how beautiful the world is and how insignificant my problems can be sometimes. It’s also a great way to workout when you are traveling! That’s why I don’t take the time to capture “Instagram worthy” photos. I just take photos for our personal memories, so I hope you’ve enjoyed them :).
Some of you know we are planning a trip around the world for 2 years (we are leaving soon!). We’ve been saving all of our money for the past 2 and a half years and we are going to be outside and exploring nature a lot! I think you’ll be able to get to know us pretty well because we’ll be vlogging a lot and posting videos on YT fairly often. We are going on so many crazy adventures and out of our comfort zones and I can’t wait to share all of that with you. We have an account together, me and my husband, called @waysoftheworld_ if you want to check it out. We share a little bit of our story and plans for our trip.
Anyways… tell me about you! Do you love the outdoors? Were you surprised to learn all those things about me? Let me know in the comments below. Would love to know more about you 🙂
Thanks so much for stopping by!
XO,
Aimara
PS: All the photos except for the Montana and Nashville ones, were taken by my sister @aliciamayorcaphotography. I might be bias, but I think she is AMAZING!!!
