*2 bonus looks at the end of the post 🙂
Did you see it coming? A linen (or cotton) white shirt is not only a must on every closet, but it’s also the best for traveling!!
I know what you are going to say: 1. It’s white and 2. It’s linen.
I know it doesn’t sound like the most convenient thing in the world, but please consider: 1. Most hotels have dry cleaning service and 2. You can wash it if you are staying at a Airbnb and 3. You won’t be recreating all these looks in just one trip LOL. Also, it is possible to wear a white shirt multiple times before washing it. Don’t judge me!
I always bring a white shirt with me and wear it multiple times in many different ways and I plan to bring one on my trip around the world. It’s one of the pieces I will pack in my tiny suitcase, so trust me when I tell you; it’s 100% worth it. This exact one I’m wearing is from a brand called Grayson (link here). I’m wearing a size 02 and it fits perfectly, a little loose, just how I like them to fit.
Also, please remember that these posts are to give you an idea and to inspire you to recreate your own looks with what you have in your closet. It doesn’t have to be a white shirt either. Other colors to consider are: black, dark blue, chambray, beige, grey or dark green. Feel free to browse Grayson’s website. If you need a good button down shirt, they make THE BEST shirts ever!! It’s literally their expertise.
So, without further ado, here are the 10 looks. Remember there are 2 bonus looks at the end of the post.
Look 1: (airport)
Leggings + Sneakers + T-shirt
This look is super easy and so comfy for the airport! It’s also cute for exploring (depending on the weather of course). It’s super easy to recreate because it works with any color t-shirt, leggings or sneakers you have. You can also do a cami instead of a t-shirt and if you are someone who gets cold easily, bring a long cardigan for an extra layer (that’s what I do).

Look 2: (airport option 2)
Leggings + Sweater + Slip-ons
White shirts are also great for layering! If you are traveling to/from somewhere cold, then bring a sweater and throw it over! This is another option for the airport. Slip-ons are the perfect airport shoe because you can take them on and off easily and you can still wear socks, which I always try to do because it’s my worst nightmare to be barefoot in an airport security line LOL. Another reason why I love this look for the airport is that you can easily take the sweater off when you arrive to your (hopefully) warm destination and you’ll be good to go out and explore (depending on location of course).

Look 3:
Printed Skirt (or shorts) + Sneakers
This one is a tennis inspired look. Skirts pack easily and since you’ll probably pack white sneakers anyways, might as well make another look out of it. I decided to make this look last minute because I had this skirt here in Florida and I think it looks super cute.

Look 4:
Dress + Sneakers
This is one of my favorite ways to wear button down shirts; with a front tie. You can also wear this exact look and replace the sneakers with sandals or espadrilles and a nice pair of earrings and use to go out out for a nice dinner. I invite you to take a look at your closet and recreate this look with any dress you have! I plan to use this styling tip a lot when traveling around the world because you can wear a strappy dress to explore and throw a button down shirt over if you are visiting a temple or church.

Look 5:
Jeans + Sandals + Bralette
This is a super cute look to go out for dinner. I love wearing button down shirts with a bralette underneath to make them look sexy. This look is great for date night. I usually like to pack one pair of neutral sandals when I go on vacation. I feel like adding high heels and a nice pair of earrings upgrades almost any outfit, so it’s good to have the option.
I doubt I’ll bring high heels on my trip around the world because we’ll be on the road for 2 years and I’m sure I won’t use them very often, but I will pack a nice pair of flat sandals and earrings. You can create the same effect with flats (and it’s comfier!).

Look 6:
Jeans + Printed Cami + White Sneakers
This is a more relaxed look to explore or for a casual dinner. Sorry that the photo is a little blurry though! I wear this look a lot, at home and on vacation, because it’s easy and very comfortable. You can recreate it with anything you have in your closet too and it’s easy to create many versions of this look. Feel free to use different camis, button downs, pants and shoes. The possibilities are endless!

Look 7:
Shorts + Slip ons + Hat
This look is great for the beach, pool or to explore around the city you are traveling to. If it’s hot and it’s appropriate to dress like this, then you can create different versions of it as well. Try it with sandals, different button downs, different shorts, espadrilles and add accessories…. You can do a lot following this formula 🙂

Look 8:
Bright colored jeans + T-shirt + Neck Scarf
This is one of my favorite looks! I love red jeans and I always pack a neck scarf because they elevate any look. You can use it as a hair scarf, also tie it around your pony tail, your wrist, pants or handbag and it looks very chic.
As you can see, I love wearing my shirt unbuttoned. It’s comfortable and if you play with what you wear underneath you can create many different looks!

Look 9:
Comfy pants + Printed Cami + Espadrilles (Or sandals, depending on what you decide to pack to go out)
Another version of look #5, but this time with pants instead of jeans, and espadrilles instead of sneakers. It’s great to go out for dinner.

Look 10:
Denim dress + Sandals
Another take on Look #4, but this time with a chambray dress that I LOVE (although I won’t bring it with me on my trip because it’s too heavy) and sandals instead of sneakers. You can add a hat and a cute handbag too and it’s another super cute look for exploring!

Bonus looks:
I wanted to include 2 bonus looks because they are super easy to recreate and I’m in Florida and I’m able to take photos outside without freezing my butt, so I said to myself… why not? LOL
Bathing suit + Shorts + Sandals + Hat
Another reason to pack a white button down shirt is because you can style it for the beach or pool. This way you can go straight to eat or have drinks and all you have to do is button it up! Also, while you are at the beach you can wear it as a cover up if it gets windy, or a little chilly or simply to protect your self from the sun.

And bonus look #2 is another way you can layer it. It looks great too without the denim jacket, but I thought I would give you another way to style the button down shirt as a layer. Any jumpsuit you have will work! (Sorry for the blurred photo. I’m not sure what went wrong! It was just me and a tripod).
Jumpsuit + Denim Jacket + Sneakers

See? So many things you can do with a white button shirt! I’ve never had a linen one until now, and I love it so much. I’m 100% sure I will bring this one on my trip around the world (plus a green one and a chambray one). As I mentioned above, there are other colors to consider if you are not sold on white LOL. (black, dark blue, chambray, beige, grey or dark green).
Any favorites? Would you bring a white shirt next time you travel? Let me know in the comments below!
Thanks so much for stopping by 🙂

Aimara
