Packing for my Florida trip – 10 looks. Part I
Hello from Florida my loves!!
I’m super happy to be here and feel so grateful that I get to work from pretty much anywhere. I don’t think I’ll be taking many days completely off because thankfully I have a lot of work going on (if I don’t work I don’t get paid LOL), so I won’t be completely absent from here or on Instagram.
Last week while I was packing, I thought of taking photos of all the outfits I was going to bring here and make this post hoping it would be useful when you guys are traveling.
So, here are the first 10 looks! Scroll down if you want to learn more about each look and some styling tips. Next week I’ll post part 2, because I packed more outfits than just these 10.
Airport looks: I’m not one of those people you’ll see at the airport wearing sweats. I like to be comfortable, yes, but I also like to look a little bit put together. Not that there aren’t ways to look cute with sweats, but what I like to wear to the airport are usually pieces I would use during my trip and I know for sure I won’t be wearing any sweatpants here in Florida.
So, these 2 looks are great when traveling from cold weather to warm weather. We took an Uber from home to the airport, so we didn’t really have to bear the nasty 20 degree weather we had in Chicago last Saturday and that’s why these outfits worked. If we would have taken the train, there’s no way I would have dressed up like this LOL.
Day-to-night outfit with a chambray dress: I looooove this dress and chambray dresses in general. This one is from Old Navy and I got it during Black Friday because I needed one and because I know how versatile they can be! They look cute to hang out during the day but you can also dress them up a little bit to go out at night.
Cute and easy daytime looks: I love packing dresses for my trips because they don’t take a lot of suitcase space and you can wear them in so many ways!! These 2 are super lightweight and perfect for traveling because they don’t wrinkle. I packed these gold sandals (got them on Amazon) because they are comfy, cute and go well with everything.
Shoes take a lot of space in your suitcase, so you have to be smart about the ones you bring with you. Both of these dresses can be worn to go to the beach too because they are easy to take on and off, and they are fresh and won’t make you feel too hot.
Cute beach looks: I’m not the girl who just wears a cover-up to go to the beach. Why? Well because we usually go and have a drink or a quick bite afterwords, and some of these restaurants have ‘outfit policies’ and if they can see your bathing suit or even if you are just wearing plastic flip flops they won’t let you in.
I’ve been there, so now when I go to the beach I try to wear pieces that are still lightweight, but are not beachwear. Jumpsuits and midi or maxi dresses are a great option. I always pack comfy flip flops in my beach bag because they are easier to take on and off if you need to go to the bathroom and stuff like that.
Day to night with a floral skirt: When you’re traveling for longer than 10 days, you need to be smart about what you bring with you. Over the years, I’ve built a wardrobe that is not only easy to style, but it’s also full of versatile, basic pieces you can style in many different ways.
Printed skirts and denim/chambray pieces are so useful. They are easy to dress up or down and they will always look good when paired with a basic piece like a white t-shirt, sneakers or strappy sandals.
I really hope this post is useful if you are traveling or if you are lucky enough to live somewhere warm and can dress like this all year round!
I love Chicago, but I seriously miss this warm weather. Hopefully one day I’ll get to live the best of both worlds and live 4 months of the year down here in Florida 🙂 #prayforme
