Hello everyone! How are you?
If you’ve been following around for a while, you know I started to blog full time a little over than a month ago. Let me tell you something, I’ve never been happier. It’s such a blessing to be able to do what I love and get paid for it. I don’t take it for granted.
I do have to say though, that it’s been harder than I thought it would be. I don’t get things done like I thought I would do and definitely I don’t have the free time I thought I would have. I often find myself distracted with insignificant things that I didn’t use to pay attention to. That’s why last week I decided to write down a little ‘routine’ for all the activities that keep Ways of Style going. I’ve set up a schedule for shooting, for writing, for engaging on IG and for replying to all of your amazing comments! I’m taking a little break from most events to focus on building a new website and other activities and investments that will make the blog a little closer to what I originally envisioned.
I’m definitely not working from home unless is raining or snowing! I’ve realized that I work better around people. That’s why I now visit different coffee places all the time and work from there. I know it sounds weird but I feel like if I’m surrounded with people watching me work (even though they’re probably not watching) I have to get things done hahahaha. I’m a weirdo I know.
Going out everyday with all my stuff also means I needed a chic way to carry everything with me. I knew I needed a backpack instead of a big tote bag that hurts my back, but what I didn’t know is that I needed mywalit. They sent over this beauty a couple of weeks ago and I love it! I can fit my laptop, my lunch, 2 small snacks and my wallet! Can you believe that? Plus, is the cutest backpack ever! What do you guys think?
On another note… I attended my first fashion show last week (Post and interview with the runway producer will be live on Friday!) and it was EPIC. I knew I was going to love it, but I didn’t know it was going to feel so right! You know when something feels right? Best feeling ever!
That’s why I’m beyond happy to announce that I’ll be attending another Fashion Show on October 15th. I’m talking about the Chicago College Fashion Show organized by Foray Collective and HerCampus. I’m so excited since I’ll be interviewing a very well known editor (I’ll keep it a secret for now) and I would love to meet some of you there! I promise it will be worth it! Chicago College Fashion Week will be held at 1st Ward 2033 West North Ave, Chicago IL 60647 on October 15th from 6 to 9 pm. You can get your tickets by visiting this link:
This event will be showcasing the talent of young female fashion designers and entrepreneurs. The College Fashion Week 2016 honorees are: My Social Canvas, Foray Collective, Ali & Ariel, Frill Clothing, and Bow & Drape. Rebecca Minkoff and Vince Camuto serve as the tour’s fashion patrons, offering their designs to complement these new designers’ collections and complete the runway looks. How cool is that? And also, models will be accessorizing with Fitbit Flex 2™, the newest activity tracker from Fitbit.
So, what’s not to love? Will I see you there?
Any thoughts on the backpack that fits it all? 😉
Love you guys! Thank you so much for stopping by!!
