WAYS OF STYLE

My current skincare routine (what’s working right now)

in Hair & Beauty on 07/18/19

Hiiiii!! I’m so excited to finally share this post with you!! 🙂

Just want to start by saying that this is not sponsored. It’s just what I’m doing and things I’m planning on doing to see if they work and share the results with you in a couple of months.

I have 2 routines; morning and night. I’m no expert, but I’m pretty sure you can use most of the same products for both. I use different ones because as a blogger, I get a lot of press samples, that’s the only reason why I use different ones. I have used all the products in this post for quite a while now and I honestly love them! Not sure if my aesthetician from Images MedSpa is going to let me keep all of these LOL, but I’ll keep you guys posted on that too.

So, as far as morning products, these are the ones I use:

I wash my face with the Skinfix Barrier+ Foaming Oil Cleanser and the Facial Cleansing Brush from Ecotools. Then I proceed to apply the Glazer Dermatology Gel 1% (provided by Images MedSpa) which has changed my skin since my last peeling/facial. I let it absorb for a little bit and apply a vitamin C serum by EmerginC. I finish up with eye cream and moisturizer, both from Avon. I cannot tell you enough how obsessed I am with each of these brands and products! I’ve used so many of their stuff over the past year because they just kept sending them (I know I’m lucky!), and I’m so so grateful!

Note: I don’t do the morning routine every day. I’d say I do it 4-5 times a week. I wash my face very good at night, and some days I just spend the whole day working from home, so I just let my skin breathe and hydrate itself with its own oils. Not sure if this is good or not, but that’s just what I do 🙂

After I get back from the gym and shower, I use the Botanical Cleanser or the Amethyst Polish from Elina Organics and that’s it. If I’m not going outside for the day because I work from home, that’s all I do. I keep these two in the shower:

I know I’m missing on using Retinol and sunscreen. I hope I have all this skin stuff figured out before my trip around the world. Thankfully, Kate from Images MedSpa is going to help me out with that.

So far she asked me to stop using witch hazel and my beloved charcoal masks. Not because they are bad for every skin type, but because they just don’t work for me and my super enlarged pores. My biggest issue right now are blackheads and breakouts. Of course I have a few small wrinkles here and there and some dark spots, but they are not my main concern right now.

Anyways, as for my night time routine, these are the products I use:

If I have makeup on (and I just recently started to do this), I remove it with this towel. It’s a game changer!!! I started using it because apparently the makeup remover towelettes are not good for you and also I’m trying to be less wasteful. You can shop for the reusable makeup remover towel here.

After that, I proceed to wash my face with the Skinfix Barrier+ Foaming Oil Cleanser. Then I apply the Glazer Dermatology Gel 1% (provided by Images MedSpa), and then another favorite product from EmerginC called the Triple Threat Cream. I couldn’t find that cream on their website, but feel free to browse on their products because they are all SO GOOD!! A little pricey, but 100% worth it! I seal that one with the Jade Roller and then apply my eye cream and a hydrating mask, both from Avon.

For both routines I try to use my Ecotools Jade Roller, but sometimes I forget because I keep it in the freezer LOL.

Additional treatments:

If you follow me on Instagram, you know I started seeing a cosmetologist last month. I’ve never done this before, you know? to see someone regularly to help me with all my skin problems. The first visit she did some extractions and a very light peeling. I peeled a little bit for 3-4 days and my skin was glowing after that. I cannot recommend it enough!

All of those bumps you see on my cheeks are blackheads!!!! Even though they got way better after my first treatment, they are still not 100% gone, but I’m going back to Images MedSpa tomorrow and I can’t wait to see what Kate will do. I know it will take a few visits and consistency on my end to take care of my skin and it’s also trial an error before I see any permanent results, but I love that I have an expert now to help me with all my questions and to give me advice.

I’m excited to have my skin back. I’ve neglected it for too long and I also have been using and changing way too many products for the sake of the blog and reviews, so I’m happy to finally take a break and find something that works and stick to it! I’ll keep you guys posted.

PS: If you are in the Chicago area, you can check out Images MedSpa and use my code to get $50 off your first visit! (Code is WAYSOFSTYLE50).

Other things I’m considering:

I was recently approached by this brand called Curology. They got my attention because they create customized beauty routines, so I’m going to give it a try and see if it works for me!

Vitamins & Supplements:

I take collagen every single day. Some days I take Vital Proteins and some other days I take these. The only annoying thing is that the right dose is 6 pills daily, but hey, it helps your skin, hair and nails. I’m all about preventing wrinkles. Collagen also helps with skin elasticity, which kind of helps with cellulite. It’s not only about your face, it’s also about your body!

Also, I take Vitamin C every day, for my immune system and it also helps with the appearance of your skin because it fights free radicals.

Ok, so I think this is it! Super excited to share more as I see and make significant changes to report. Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Leave any questions you may have, in the comments below 🙂
