Hello loves! Happy Thursday! Oh, actually just realized that it’s not Friday just yet!
How was your week? Mine felt super long, even though it was a short one. I just felt like I had to fit in 5 days of work into 4, and it was crazy… but hey, I survived and so did you!
A couple of weeks ago, me and the BF visited Spin Chicago. Funny story, we met on Tinder in September last year and this is where our first date was, so when they invited us we were like HELL YES! Lets play some ping pong!
The thing is, that now it’s not only ping pong! They have brunch too! (On top of a great lunch and dinner menu) And what’s better than a good brunch with fun cocktails on a rainy Saturday?
Yeah… I thought so too.
Initially, I though ok, this my chance to beat him at ping pong (He won on our first date!) and I was feeling it you know? We decided to play 7 sets and whoever won 4 out of the seven was the winner. Unfortunately, I did not win (4-2 in case you were wondering). I still don’t understand why, because I honestly feel like I’m better than him hahaha.
Anyway, I was pissed to say the least. I’m a terrible loser. So, we proceeded to order our food.
We immediately ordered cocktails when we arrived. I had “The Top Spin” (on the right) and it’s prepared with St Germaine, Aperol, thyme syrup & lemon and G had “The Barter No James” which is prepared with Leblon Cachaca, lemon, thyme syrup and jalapeños.
Both really good to be honest. So good that we ordered two rounds before noon hahaha
Do you spy the Jenga tower in the background? Well we played that for a while too and I at least won at something that day! Yay!
Then we ordered our food. I ordered the “Two Potato Hash” made with Yukon gold & sweet potatoes, crispy pork belly, charred scallions and a rosemary maple glaze. G had the “Fried Egg Sandwich” and he said it was amazing! He always orders eggs in the morning! ALWAYS! The sandwich has an egg of course, buttered lettuce, brown sugar black peppered bacon and a spinach pesto. It’s served on toasted focaccia bread.
Both dishes were really good. I recommend ordering mine only if you like your sweets in the morning. It was delicious, but it’s a sweet dish for sure.
After we ate, we were full and I wasn’t really over the fact that I got my ass kicked at ping pong (again!), so we skipped dessert. Definitely think about visiting Spin Chicago, especially during the weekends, so you can enjoy a delicious brunch menu and have some fun playing some ping pong!
Can’t wait to go back to try other dishes I have my eyes on and also, because I want to beat G!! Yes, I will never let that go!
Have an awesome weekend and thank you so much for stopping by!
