MY bedtime routine w/ SERENA & LILY

MY bedtime routine w/ SERENA & LILY

Hello loves! Happy Friday! YAY!

How was your week? I personally loved this week because it was a short one, but also, short weeks are usually the crazy ones, because somehow you have to fit 5 days of work into 4.

Whenever that happens, it messes up with my routine a little bit, especially my night time one. I’ve talked about my terrible sleeping habits in the past (check the post here) and how hard I’m working to become a better sleeper in order to have more productive days. First, it was the mattress, and now I’m adding the sheets and the comfiest, softest and coziest duvet cover from Serena & Lily.

Also, how cute is little Toto in the cover photo? I usually don’t sleep with him because of allergies but every once in a while, he has that cute face on and just jumps on my bed and I can’t say no! He’s just so cute and warm that I can’t resist to cuddle with him.

Back to the original point of this post… it’s very important to have a good bedtime routine and not just for kids, but us adults, tend not to give it the importance that it deserves. So, without further ado, these are the things that have personally worked for me and I suggest you to try for a better night sleep:

  1. Make your bed comfy. For me, personally I need to have a cute comfy bed that just calls my name every night. Luxury bedding from Serena & Lily  plays a BIG role on this one for sure.
  2. Try a 5-minute meditation session. This is something I’ve been trying to incorporate to my daily routine and it really works miracles. Meditating is very relaxing and it helps a lot when you’re trying to clear up your mind, which is a very important thing to master before going to bed.
  3. Keep a gratitude journal. I’ve talked about this in the past (Check the post here), and I still believe it’s super important to be able to count our blessings at the end of each day. Trust me, no matter how long or bad a day may seem, there’s always something to be grateful for.
  4. Take a long warm bath. OK, I know this one is hard to do every night, but I totally recommend doing this after a rough, long day. Light up some candles, put on some classical music on and just sit and relax in your bathtub with some nice bath salts. You’ll feel like a million bucks after.
  5. Snuggle with your pup. If you don’t have a dog, do it with your cat, and if you don’t have a pet, just borrow one LOL! This one is my favorite because my pup is so warm and he likes to snuggle on my stomach and I just LOVE it!
  6. Enjoy a 10-minute read. This one is particularly hard for me, because I love watching TV before going to bed and my TV is not in my room. I’m still working on making this a habit because I always feel great after a good, inspiring read. These are some of the books I’m obsessing with lately:

I’m not gonna lie though. I still have the occasional night where I fall asleep on my couch and wake up with a back ache and in a terrible mood. That’s why I’m trying really hard to do, as much & as often as I can, all the things I described above.

Of course a comfy bed with luxury bedding never hurt anyone 😉

Make sure to check out Serena & Lily and their Duvet Covers. Mine is the Priano Duvet Cover in Fog and it’s super cute on both sides! Use my code DUVETLOVE-WOS for a 15% off. (Code is valid for one week only!)

How about you? Do you have a night time routine? Share it with me in the comments below! Maybe there’s something I can add to mine 🙂

This post is adorable! I’m in love with your puppy, what a cute dog! Thank you for the amazing tips, I definitely will try to implement some of them. Like I really love the idea of having a 10-min read (I usually stuck with my instagram which is not good at all) and keeping a gratitude journal.

This is so cute. Okay I’ve actually been looking for a duvet cover for so long now! This looks so comfy! I love your little bedtime routine. I need to do one. One that doesn’t incorporate wine and falling asleep late. I’ve been so tired lately. I clearly just need a cute pup to snuggle with and a comfy duvet! Thanks for sharing

I have a pretty boring nighttime routine. I check my Instagram, kiss my fiancé and go to bed! I definitely need to get into the habit of doing more meditation and also reading! It will help to take my mind off social media for once. That duvet cover is so nice! I need one for my bed 🙂

Your little puppy is so cute! Sleeping next to that little angel would help with a great bedtime routine. I love the duvet cover – gorgeous. And I must say that that meditation and gratitude journaling is such an important part of your routine. Thanks for a great post! J. x

Hehe, your dog is definitely enjoying it as well as you! It is always fun to see pets when they get excited. I never got any home goods from Serana & Lily, because we move so often that I decided to spend money on something cheaper at Target. But thanks for sharing with us!

Having a comfortable bed is such a blessing as you can really rest for the day to come. I love your way of blogging about this and your dog is awesome

Having comfortable bedding is so important and I’m loving all these tips babe! I definitely find it hard to keep to some of them like reading before bed instead of watching Netflix and taking a bath frequently to relieve stress.

How cute is your pup!! I generally don’t like my dogs in the bed but sometimes you just can’t resist!!

Ok, I have to begin with saying that even if I don’t appreciate pets in beds, Toto could stay in mine as much as he wants with that adorable smile on his face!! So cute! 🙂 Regarding bedtime routines I’m trying my best to build up those as I don’t think mine are good enough and I rarely get enough quality sleep. I have learned that 30 minutes of meditation (for some people that might be a bit too long) helps me immensely and I just get to escape all my thoughts for a while before going to bed. Cleansing my head so to say. I love all the other tips you had as well and will try to get into a better bedtime routine!

I love the idea of a gratitude journal! It is so important to recognize all that we should be grateful for at the end of the day. As a mother of two, I completely understand the importance of a bedtime routine (not just for my kids, but for me!). I’ve found that taking a few extra minutes at the end of each day to have to myself really leaves me feeling refreshed in the morning. I’m glad that you are sleeping easier these days.
    Great post!

I am a huge fan of Serena & Lily home goods! They have such amazing, quality pieces. This duvet looks super cozy and comfy and will be wonderful for the upcoming fall and winter. Luckily I have no probs sleeping bc I am always tired at the end of the night (lol) but you have some great tips. I love the idea of a gratitude journal for sure and a bath always helps you get into that meditative state to relax and unwind. I need to look into getting a new comforter for my bed too and will check out this one! xoxo, Christine
