5 pieces, 10 easy-to-recreate Fall looks
Hello loves! Happy Monday!
As I mentioned on my Instagram, at the beginning of Summer I got rid of half my closet. Also, 3 months ago I started to be more disciplined with my workouts, diet and lifestyle in general and as a result I’ve lost 12 pounds! Pretty awesome right?
It is, I’m not complaining. I feel amazing, but I don’t have a lot of clothes to wear! I also don’t want to spend too much money buying more clothes because we are saving money to travel the world for 2 years (learn more here @waysofstheworld_) and to be honest, saving for that trip has put everything in perspective for me. I don’t want to be constantly shopping, I just want to shop smarter, and it’s what I’ve been doing lately and I feel great.
I’ve saved so much money and I’ve forced myself to re-style the things I already have. I’m not going to lie, it’s not easy and it’s nearly impossible for me to share different looks every week with my current situation, but I do promise I will try to be as creative as possible and share them as often as possible.
So, last week I choose 5 pieces I wanted to style for Fall. These 5 pieces are classic and basic and you probably have some kind of version of these, so good luck trying to recreate some of these looks!
The 5 pieces are:
- A striped dress
- A floral dress
- An oversized black blazer
- A lightweight trench
- A suede skirt
Here are the 10 looks: (scroll down for links & styling tips on each piece)
A striped dress: This is such a basic piece. So basic I have this one and I also have it in white with black stripes. You can literally wear it all year round and style it to go out, to hang out, for brunch, date night and even the office!
This time, I styled it for Fall because it’s that time of the year. The look on the left is good to hang out, weekends, errands, etc and the look on the right is good for date night or girls night out.
What do you think? I’ll create more styles with this dress in the upcoming months, because there are so many looks you can do and I do wear this dress a lot.
A floral dress: This is one of my favorite dresses right now! It’s from a brand called Ophelia Roe, sold at Meijer. It’s such a good Fall and Winter piece and I’ve been wearing it a lot lately. It’s just so easy to style! Here are two ways I’ve styled it so far.
Unfortunately, I can’t find it online anymore, but you can stop by any Meijer store if you live in the Midwest and check out if they have it. They seriously have the cutest, most affordable clothing!
A boyfriend blazer: One of the most versatile and timeless pieces I own. This is another piece that never goes out of style and that you can wear all year round, for many occasions and in so many different ways!
I bet I sound like a broken record at this point, but seriously, if you fill your closet with classic pieces like this one, you don’t have to shop that often and you can save yourself some space and money. That sounds good right?
This blazer is also from the brand Ophelia Roe available at Meijer. Here’s the link. I’m wearing a size S.
A lightweight trench: I’ve had this trench for 3 years now and every year during Fall this color makes a comeback. It’s super lightweight and the cut & fit is very classic and it doesn’t really go out of style, so consider getting something like this and plan to keep it for a long time. I have like 3 trenches like this one in different colors and they are perfect for the beginning of Fall and also for Spring. You can style it to go out or in a casual way like I did here.
A suede skirt: These skirts make a comeback every Fall too and it’s not hard to tell why. They are suede, they’re warm, they usually come is super earthy, Fall worthy colors and the A-line fit makes you look really skinny! What’s not to love?
This is another piece you can wear every day of the week and still make it look different every time. Here are 2 looks that are easy to recreate and that I’m planning to repeat a lot this Fall if weather permits 😉
PS:I had to pin this skirt in the back for these pictures because it’s so big! I know it’s a good problem to have but I really LOVE this piece! Maybe I’ll just use a pin every time I wear it from now on.
So, any favorites? Any thoughts?
