Hello, hello!

Happy Monday everyone! How was your weekend? Have you been enjoying this amazing weather?

For this week I wanted to create a couple looks with a trend that’s been all over stores and social media over the past couple of months: Embroidery.

I’m not the one to follow every trend out there, but I love embroidery, so I couldn’t resist! At the same time I try not to succumb to everything that’s “in”, I feel like if you buy everything that’s out there you’ll be wasting your money, not to mention the fact that you’ll be filing your closet with things that are only good for one season.

I have to admit that I’ve done it before and it’s not worth it! That’s why I decided to share a few tips on buying trendy pieces out there:

  1. Keep it classic: I always like to buy my go-to classical pieces with a little twist. Like for example, right now embroidery is big out there, so I got a striped shirt dress and a mini skirt because I’m addicted to both of these and I can wear them all year round. I’m considering a pair of pumps and a white shirt or denim jacket.
  2. Buy transitional pieces: Before investing on anything, make sure you can wear it for at least 2-3 seasons. Make sure to have a couple ideas on how to wear that piece during the warmer or colder seasons ahead, or you can always visit my blog for inspo.
  3. Buying 2 or 3 pieces is more than enough: Don’t go crazy because most trends last just a couple months.
  4. Don’t over spend: I know all the major brands are the ones who start with all these trends, but you seriously don’t need to break the bank. I don’t think you need to spend over $50 on each piece you’re getting if you don’t have the budget for it, but if you do, go for it! I hope to have the budget one day too! But for for now I like to shop at Shein because they have great pieces at very affordable prices.

I got this super cute embroidery skirt at Shein for just $26. I’m wearing a size M and it almost fits a little tight, but I don’t blame the brand on that one hahaha I’ve been carrying a little Holiday weight for almost a year now hahaha. I styled it with a white T-shirt, a sleeveless vest and the cutest lace up shoes from Rialto Shoes (A sister brand of White Mountain Shoes). I think this look is perfect for Festival Season!

What do you guys think?

Let me know your thoughts in the comments below 🙂 And don’t forget to come back on Wednesday to check out another way to wear this beautiful Spring trend.

Teaser: I won’t be styling the same skirt!

Thank you so much for stopping by and have an amazing week ahead!

Hola! Feliz Lunes!

No me he cuidado mucho Ășltimamente! Bueno X…

You’re making several important points here. First of all, like you said, trends are trends and will eventually fade, so it’s better to stick with 2-3 pieces. Second which is related to that is, don’t break the bank just because something happens to be trendy at the moment. Just because the big fashion houses put it out there, doesn’t mean you need to buy it 🙂

So true to not get more than 2 pieces. I used to get so many of the same things which stopped being in style and now it’s just laying there in my closet! I still try to wear it somehow though haha! Love this embroidery skirt, you styled it perfectly!

I’m loving the embroidery trend right now and though I’m tempted to buy everything, you’re right 2 or 3 pieces to mix n match are more than enough! The skirt is so cute, I can’t believe the price tag, it’s a total winner! xx, C.

I totally agree with your tips on purchasing trendy pieces. I actually didn’t own much embroidered pieces and then decided to get a skirt like this one as well. I love the long vest with the gold buttons that you used to add to this look. It takes the trendy skirt and the classic vest and makes a beautiful combo. I can’t wait to see your next embroidered look! xoxo, Christine
