BRUNCHIN’ WITH SPIN CHICAGO

BRUNCHIN’ WITH SPIN CHICAGO

Hello loves! Happy Thursday! Oh, actually just realized that it’s not Friday just yet!

How was your week? Mine felt super long, even though it was a short one. I just felt like I had to fit in 5 days of work into 4, and it was crazy… but hey, I survived and so did you!

A couple of weeks ago, me and the BF visited Spin Chicago. Funny story, we met on Tinder in September last year and this is where our first date was, so when they invited us we were like HELL YES! Lets play some ping pong!

The thing is, that now it’s not only ping pong! They have brunch too! (On top of a great lunch and dinner menu) And what’s better than a good brunch with fun cocktails on a rainy Saturday?

Yeah… I thought so too.

Initially, I though ok, this my chance to beat him at ping pong (He won on our first date!) and I was feeling it you know? We decided to play 7 sets and whoever won 4 out of the seven was the winner. Unfortunately, I did not win (4-2 in case you were wondering). I still don’t understand why, because I honestly feel like I’m better than him hahaha.

Anyway, I was pissed to say the least. I’m a terrible loser. So, we proceeded to order our food.

We immediately ordered cocktails when we arrived. I had “The Top Spin” (on the right) and it’s prepared with St Germaine, Aperol, thyme syrup & lemon and G had “The Barter No James” which is prepared with Leblon Cachaca, lemon, thyme syrup and jalapeños.

Both really good to be honest. So good that we ordered two rounds before noon hahaha

Do you spy the Jenga tower in the background? Well we played that for a while too and I at least won at something that day! Yay!

Then we ordered our food. I ordered the “Two Potato Hash” made with Yukon gold & sweet potatoes, crispy pork belly, charred scallions and a rosemary maple glaze. G had the “Fried Egg Sandwich” and he said it was amazing! He always orders eggs in the morning! ALWAYS! The sandwich has an egg of course, buttered lettuce, brown sugar black peppered bacon and a spinach pesto. It’s served on toasted focaccia bread.

Both dishes were really good. I recommend ordering mine only if you like your sweets in the morning. It was delicious, but it’s a sweet dish for sure.

After we ate, we were full and I wasn’t really over the fact that I got my ass kicked at ping pong (again!), so we skipped dessert. Definitely think about visiting Spin Chicago, especially during the weekends, so you can enjoy a delicious brunch menu and have some fun playing some ping pong!

Can’t wait to go back to try other dishes I have my eyes on and also, because I want to beat G!! Yes, I will never let that go!

Have an awesome weekend and thank you so much for stopping by!

XO,

Aw my friend. I had the biggest smile on my face when you talked about your bf and going back to the place where you first met in person! First off STAND O for you for meeting your love on tinder and for being honest about it. I met my other half through an instagram dm, haha. 7 months in now, and it’s been the best. I give you mad props. Also I would love to go to spin one day. Maybe if i’m ever in the area I could head there. The food and drinks look amazing and now I’m hungry because I have not eaten dinner yet, lol. Thank you for such a great and cute post! You and your bf are now on my OTP list!
    Love, Dom

Such a cute story about how you guys met on tindr and this was the place you went on your first date. This place looks like a great place to go on a date it’s a shame we don’t have a spin here in Sydney! 🙁

This is a perfect date idea, brunch and ping pong. There’s a place here in downtown LA that’s kind of similar. I actually went there on a date too. Not a boyfriend but a date.. haha.. but it was so much fun! It’s better than your typical dinner date in my opinion. I’m glad you and your boyfriend enjoyed your time.

I’ve never heard of Spin before this post! So am I correct that it’s a place to go and have fun and they just happen to have some yumminess too?! Sounds like my kind of place! I almost never hear good things about Tinder and since I got married before it existed I rely on Facebook and IG memes for my info, so it’s great to hear a story ending well on Tinder! lol It’s super cool that you got invited back to the place you all first went on a date!I’m super competitive too and as much as I hate to admit it, my husband it usually right and wins! The Top Spin sounds so interesting! I’ve never had a drink like that before but I know it must have been great! Also, I’ve been on a mostly plant based diet for a while and seeing your food pics has me seriously wanting to give myself a MAJOR cheat weekend!

Such a yummy food, I’m so sorry that I live very far from Chicago. But when you’ll visit Italy the best focaccia you can find at Genova.

Aww, that sounds so romantic. I like when a couple shares the same interests and I think a ping pong, table tennis, golf are something like this. That place looks great to spend a time – nice food, good company and the games! Lovely. I bet you had a fantastic evening!

Would you believe I played ping pong for the first time about a month ago at my job? And I actually won! I’m actually very competitive too, so I can imagine how pissed you were at losing…AGAIN haha :p Spin Chicago looks like such a nice hangout spot for date night. These are the type of places my fiancé and I love to go. I would love trying some of their brunch too!

How lovely that the same place you first met at also invited you for a night out together and what a fun place at that! There are so many things to do apart from just drinking delish drinks and eating good food too. I’m a terrible loser too so if I know I won’t win I won’t even play, haha.
